Justin Kurtz, Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI) is the vice president of Homestead Inspection Co., and has completed almost 3500 inspections since he began working there in April 2002.

Justin is a member of the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI), and a charter member of the NAHI Heartland Chapter, a member of the Missouri Association of Real Estate Inspectors (MAREI), and a member of the Kansas Association of Real Estate Inspectors (KAREI).  In addition to his initial training class, the Professional Home Inspection Course, whose guidelines are set forth by the National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI), Justin has completed 290 hours of continuing education on such topics as: EIFS/Stucco Systems, Foundations Defects and Repairs, Electrical Inspections, Carbon Monoxide and Improper Venting, Radon Measurement for Technicians (EPA), Mold and Healthy Home Training, Roofing, Heat Pumps, Structural Deficiencies, and Meth Labs and Drug Recognition. Also a lead-based paint inspector and risk assessor licensed in both Kansas, and Missouri.

Justin’s most recent certifications are Radon Measurement Proficiency and Radon Mitigation Proficiency, and last year became a disaster housing inspector through an organization, Partnership for Response and Recovery (PaRR), that is contracted by FEMA to perform housing evaluations. Justin was activated by PaRR after Hurricane Katrina and sent to Metairie, Louisiana.

My experience for inspecting homes is vast. I have been involved in all most every side of the Real Estate transactions. The positions I have held are Real Estate Agent, Landlord, Investor, Rehabber, Remodeler, and Inspector. In my short stint of life I have been blessed to see each side of the transaction from being the Buyers and Sellers Agent to buying and selling as well as getting dirty and doing the work. I have completed an eighty hour course at a Professional Inspectors Training Institute and completed it at the top of my class.

A little about myself, I am a husband for 11 years and a father for eight years. I have two boys that are 7 and 2. My oldest is Maverick and lives up to his name. My youngest Zurich and holds his own with his big brother. My wife Dianne has put up with me for 11 years and still holds me dear. We are also foster parents for the State of Missouri, and involved with charities that help the foster children in Missouri. We have been involved in these charities for 16 years and continue love and are involved in this work. I am excited to be here at Homestead Inspection Co. I have known John and Justin for all most twenty years. I grew up with John and Justin in Boy Scouts and have looked a John as a mentor and Justin as a brother.
